We welcome you most warmly to our school community and trust that your child's time here will be both happy and rewarding in every respect.
Our school was built in 1894 and whilst the building retains much of its quirky, Victorian splendour, it has established itself as a warm, friendly school, with inclusion and achievement of all children at its heart. Our school ethos and visions are the driving force for all we do.
The school has a very strong team ethos, with parents and carers, children, staff, governors and members of our community working together to ensure all our children experience the joy of learning and achieve the highest possible academic, social and creative standards.
We are fortunate in serving a diverse community with many cultures and languages represented, and one of our main priorities is to ensure all our children benefit from this rich learning environment.
We believe that positive communication between school and home is key to success and benefits all children. Our School prospectus contains much useful information about the current organisation and priorities of our school, and is updated annually.
To ensure you can share in your child’s learning, we have termly opportunities to meet your child’s teacher. You will also receive learning targets for your child termly in years 1-6 and can access and contribute to 'learning journeys' in FS1 and FS2. We also welcome visits to school throughout the year, either by appointment, or at our regular celebration assemblies.
We strongly recommend that prospective parents and carers visit the school during the school day, to fully appreciate the quality of experience of the children at Meersbrook Bank, and will be happy to give further information then, or by phone or email.
